O'Brien's Pub is a cozy bar in Allston MA, providing a home for local and national acts to perform. The venue is located at the top of Harvard Ave in Allston "Rock City" MA, and is near many places to eat (vegan/veggie options all over), music gear shops, thrift and antique shops, and public transportation.

O'Brien's has one main goal: to serve as a platform for great artists. Whether its a big national act coming through to pack us to the walls, or a local band's first gig, O'Brien's staff is going to treat everyone with the same level of respect and dedication to quality. Open to all genres and styles, O'Brien's Pub has been a springboard for hundreds of artists over the years and through diverse booking and dedicated promotion this tradition will be kept strong.

Frank (Owner)
A long time investor of commercial property in the Allston Village area, Frank is also someone who not only understands the books, but the importance of a thriving local arts and music community. His choices to allow properties to become rock clubs (Great Scott & O'Brien's Pub) and tattoo/piercing parlors (Stingray) has given all of Harvard Ave something to be happy about. He's such a nice guy, we let the whole 'Yankees fan' thing slide.

Matt (General Manager)
The story of Matt becoming GM is near perfect. For years our favorite comic book + metal loving doorman dealt with the intoxicated, cleaned up after patrons, and all that gritty stuff. Never once did anyone hear a complaint, for Matt has always just been stoked to be involved. This lead to bartending, and a more solid understand of how the business-end of things work. So when it was time to bring in a new GM, we all knew Matt was a no-brainer choice. The dude loves local bands, understands the venue's potential, and hopefully be a great GM for many years.

Carl (Booking / Entertainment Director)
Mr. Carl Lavin is best know as the man who 'saved Great Scott'. Carl took a under-used frat bar and showed Boston that in fact, it could be one of the premier mid-sized venues in the city. Carl is an extremely dedicated husband, father, and events director. He has a 'everyone deserves a chance..and prolly a 2nd, and 3rd' kind of mentality that allows for diverse booking and being open to the needs of the community. If there was ever a right man for the job, its Carl.
